GMK Bio Services
delivers the highest quality Chinese bred Rhesus and Cynomolgus Macaques available. Since 2000, GMK principals have delivered to an international customer base >20,000 Rhesus and Cynomolgus monkeys. GMK’s capacity is driven by its supply of 10,000 Cynomolgus and 5000 Rhesus female breeders. GMK has established relationships with the most respected and well managed breeding centers in China and Laos.

The principals of GMK have a long and distinguished track record of delivering quality primates to its international customers.

Over 20,000 primates have been safely delivered
  since the 1980s.
Affiliated with the only Chinese breeding center
to have been approved by the Home Office in
  the United Kingdom since 2002.
Laboratory testing and quarantine methods are
  proven and strictly maintained.
18 veterinarians each with an average of 10
years of experience with NHPs. 120 animal care workers who are continually trained in
animal welfare, common primate diseases and environmental quarantine.
Consistent predictable quality and ensuring a better living environment for the primates
  is our primary goal.

Our centers maintain open air cage free areas to promote socialization, exercise and play.

The centers contain virus free Cynomolgus and Rhesus colonies.  In early 2007, the centers were able to start producing “purebred” Cynos and Rhesus colonies.

The Cynomolgus breeding area houses 4000 breeding females and 500 males. These produce approximately 3500 offspring per year, 60-70% of them F4/F5. The Rhesus breeding area houses 2400 breeding females and 600 males producing 1700 F4 offspring per year. The primates are weaned at 8 months of age. The colonies have a clear genetic history and a complete breeding history record. A daily care, medical and quarantine record exists for each primate.

GMK’s scientific team has impressive breadth of skills and expertise, and strictly follows colony management, disease and quality control procedures based on international standards. Our dedicated veterinarians have put in place a preventative health program that includes routine testing, daily sterilization of the breeding center, social environment programs and state of the art quarantine facilities.

For the most behaviourally and physically healthy primates, all of the houses/cages in the centers are fitted with 4 perches of various heights, including two or more swings and chains for the monkeys to climb and improve their mobility. The front and back are constructed from stainless steel with a wire-mesh section in the roof, which allows the monkeys visibility and to swing at a high level. All cages are fitted with a grid bottom floor with hot water tubes underneath to provide heating for the colder months.

GMK can accommodate specific orders based on age, sex, and testing requirements.
